This DIY Halloween spider web was an easy way to fill the blank space on our TV wall. I used white yarn so it would stand out against the black slats, but if you have a white wall, you could use black yarn instead. It’s a simple halloween decor DIY that makes a big impact.

what you’ll need

White Yarn / Black Yarn

Scissors

Tape

Spiders (optional, but recommended for extra spookiness)

a few tips before you start

✦ Dust the wall or baseboard so the tape sticks well.

✦ When creating the radial spokes, it's easier to work with small pieces of string.

THE PROCESS ↓

Tape one end of a long piece of yarn near the top of the wall. Stretch it diagonally down to the bottom of the wall and tape it in place. Repeat in several directions, making sure the strands all cross at the same centre point. Tape the strands together where they intersect.

Tie a new piece of yarn to one of the spokes near the centre. Run it to the next spoke and loop it around, continuing from spoke to spoke. Keep looping the yarn around each spoke, moving farther from the centre each time. Space the connecting strands out to create the web pattern.

Cut off any extra yarn, adjust the strands until you’re happy with the shape, and add a few spiders to finish the web.
